'Praying' Hyde

“If the heart be right, blessings cannot be withheld; it can only be delayed.”-'Praying' John Hyde

John Hyde

John Hyde was the son of a Presbyterian Minister. After graduation John was asked to be a professor in his alma mater. However John did not feel called to be professor. So he went to a missionary meeting  where there was a need for workers to go to different foreign countries. Later he befriended another missionary who assisted in the program. "Give me all the arguments you have for the foreign field.” ,asked John but he did not get the answer he wanted. “You need no arguments,”  said the missionary,  “What you want is to get down on your knees and stay there until the matter is settled one way or another.” John took his advice, he prayed to God to show him what he wanted him to do and God answered. God told him to become a missionary to India. So, John set sail for India after graduation in October, 1892. There he was a perfect instrument for Christ and helped many indian families give their lives to Jesus.
